Heat and natual air conditioning

We haven't really done anything huge in the past few days, with the exception of yesterday. Mostly just relaxing, going swimming and such since its been in the mid to high 30s every day. We went swimming a few times too. The water was so warm.

I found that the best air conditioning in Europe is within mountains. Its quite pleasant to go from 35 degree weather into a cool cave in a mountain. We went into a gorge with a river going through it. Aare is the name of the river.

I can't concentrate on what I'm writing because of the talking in this room right now

Wow, what an incredible picture!!! That's so cool that you could go in the mountains!

Have you eaten any good food lately? How many more days are you in Switzerland? Are you going back to Germany after that or somewhere else?

That photo is amazing! I can't imagine being able to see that in person. Natural air conditioning, eh? That's one way to keep the electric bill down!

What language do people speak in Switzerland?

Based on my experience, I'd say that people from Switzerland speak Swinglish. That's what we call it when we get documents from people in our Switzerland office.

In actuality they speak any or all of French, German, and English. I think it also depends on where in Switzerland they live.

Oh wait, you weren't asking me were you? Okay, hopefully Marc will tell us what language(s) he's been hearing most there.

They speak what is known as Schwitzer Deutsch, as well as French and Italian so its a dialect of German that Leanne tells me is pretty much impossible to learn and it sounds like Swedish. There was one section that we drove through where everything was french including the street signs so that was kinda cool for me.

We've had lots of good food here and we're here until thursday, then we're going to Vienna, Austria for a few days.

That's cool about the French. At least you had a hope of understanding those signs!

I guess there's a lot of history of land passing back and forth between countries over the years; like Alsace-Lorraine where a lot of our ancestors came from.

Hi Marc and Leanne: I also really love that picture ... nice collection on this blog now.
Has it cooled down at all, or still up in the mid to high 30s that you guys prefer. :-)
It went downt to 11C here, and we have been getting all kinds of rain. I finally got the grass cut yesterday (Sunday) and it was about 8in high in places. Bet you miss not cutting the grass, eh Marc!?
Drove the Camry on the weekend, when Mom and I went to my work, and we were able to fit a weight/exercise bench in the trunk and take my office pictures home. This is my last official week of work starting today. well better go and get to it. looking forward to you next installment of your trip.

The heat wave over there is making the news in Canada. Remember to drink lots of water. At least you have a place to cool off there in the mountains.
